What the role involves

• Perform routine system administration tasks, including server and system upgrades, patching, and user account maintenance.
• Resolve common hardware, software, and system connectivity issues.
• Maintain IT infrastructure - including servers, storage, network equipment, and backups - across on-premises and hybrid cloud systems.
• Resolve infrastructure, storage, and network connectivity issues, leveraging management tools for provisioning, monitoring, automation, and compliance.
• Collaborate with IT and IS team members and other departments to resolve incidents, implement solutions, and address business IT needs.
• Participate in IT projects, rollouts, and cross-functional initiatives that support business objectives and technology improvements.

Skills and requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator, IT Systems Engineer, or equivalent role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments, networking concepts, and systems administration best practices.
• Proven experience with hybrid cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring tools, automation platforms, and patch management tools.

• Kraken Robotics is currently seeking a Senior System & Network Administrator to support the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of our IT infrastructure.
• Have hands-on experience managing servers, networks, and systems in both on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
• This position will be based out of our Mount Pearl, Newfoundland or Dartmouth, Nova Scotia offices with the option of working hybrid or remote.
