Security Screening Personnel focuses on process personnel security screening requests for departmental and private sector employees.

What the role involves

• Process personnel security screening requests for departmental and private sector employees.
• Process fingerprints requests to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for verification in Canada and abroad by using a digital electronic fingerprinting system, namely Real Tim.
• Assisting the Resolution of Doubt (ROD) Interview Section in the preparation of the screening files for the Officers to conduct interviews across Canada.
• Processing security screening certificate and briefing forms.
• Maintaining a database of security screening files.

Skills and requirements

• These personnel play a crucial role in maintaining national security by ensuring that only qualified individuals gain access to classified information and secure facilities.
• Must have recent experience (within one year) in a Personnel Security Screening and an Organization Security Screening environment.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in assisting/communicating with the general public.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the use of micro-computers and related software such as MS Office, WordPerfect, AmiPro, Lotus.

• Security Screening Personnel are tasked with assessing and verifying the suitability of individuals seeking security clearances.
• Communicate on a regular basis with Security Officials through correspondences and/or by phone for missing information and/or clarifications.
• Compare the adverse information received as it relates to the Criminal Code.
