What the role involves

• Conduct pre‑treatment patient assessments, including review of contraindications, medical history, and eligibility for therapy.
• Manage peripheral IV access and access central lines using sterile technique and best practices.
• Administer IV and injectable specialty medications in accordance with manufacturer, Health Canada, and nursing college standards.
• Monitoring patients during and post‑infusion, identifying and responding to adverse events per medical directives.
• Document all patient care activities accurately within electronic patient records and clinical systems.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, side effects, and self‑administration when applicable.

Skills and requirements

• Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in infusion, ambulatory care, or specialty clinical settings.
• Infusion certification or demonstrated hands‑on IV infusion experience.
• Experience administering biologics, oncology, or specialty pharmaceutical therapies.
