Registered Dental Hygienist

Registered Dental Hygienist focuses on collecting up-to-date medical and dental histories from patients.

What the role involves

• Collecting up-to-date medical and dental histories from patients.
• Recording dental conditions based on observations and evaluations (includes charting hygiene care provided during visit). - Charting is computer-based.
• Applying pit and fissure sealants, as well as desensitization gel.
• Scaling/Root Planing, Polishing, and Fluoride Application.
• Instructing patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene.
• Taking Digital Intra-oral Radiographs.

Skills and requirements

• The ideal RDH will have a calm, reassuring, and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced atmosphere.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are an asset.
• Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO.
