Payroll Officer focuses on checking timesheets to see how many hours employees worked and upload to the system.
What the role involves
- Checking timesheets to see how many hours employees worked and upload to the system.
- Managing an efficient and effective end-to-end payroll service in relation to the lifecycle of an employee, including creation/checking of new employees, variations to contract, paym.
- Calculating deductions including DEA, AOE, as well as other deductions.
- Processing holiday, sick, maternity and paternity leave payments.
- Resolving any discrepancies or payroll related issues.
- Generate payroll reports for management and reconcile payroll accounts monthly.
Skills and requirements
- Relevant finance, accounts, payroll, Excel, bookkeeping, or accounting-system experience may be required.

- Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Officer to join our clients well established team in Telford to cover a maternity contra.
- Managing three companies payrolls and must ensure accurate, timely payment of employee wages, taxes, and benefits while maintaining compliance with employment laws.
- £28,000 - £30,000 Dependant on Experience.
Candidate fit
- Proven experience in a payroll function.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax laws (PAYE), pension regulations and payroll processes.
- Experience with payroll systems (Preferably Moorepay) and SAP.
