What the role involves

  • Processing full-cycle payroll on a regular basis (weekly/bi-weekly), ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Preparing and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and year-end tax forms (e.g., T4s).
  • Processing high-volume invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely entry into the accounting system.
  • Preparing and execute payment runs (cheques, EFTs, wire transfers).
  • Assisting with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.

Skills and requirements

  • Support audits by providing required documentation and reports.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll and/or accounts payable roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and employment standards.
