Skills and requirements
- Records all necessary data in patient charts as required and appropriate.
- Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) Program.
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
- Radiopharmacy skills: Able to label WBCs and RBCs.
Candidate fit
- Ensures that the quality of patient care is maintained at a high level.
- Review documentation to ensure that there are no errors in patient identification and that the correct examination is performed.
- Prepares, explains, and positions the patient for the examination.
Additional role context
- Prepares and/or administers Radiopharmaceutical agents as authorized.
- Reviews images for completeness of examination, sorts images, and checks with the Radiologist when necessary.
- Maintains quality control in the performance of all procedures.
