Nuclear Medicine Technologist I focuses on records all necessary data in patient charts as required and appropriate.

Skills and requirements

  • Records all necessary data in patient charts as required and appropriate.
  • Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) Program.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
  • Radiopharmacy skills: Able to label WBCs and RBCs.

Candidate fit

  • Ensures that the quality of patient care is maintained at a high level.
  • Review documentation to ensure that there are no errors in patient identification and that the correct examination is performed.
  • Prepares, explains, and positions the patient for the examination.

Additional role context

  • Prepares and/or administers Radiopharmaceutical agents as authorized.
  • Reviews images for completeness of examination, sorts images, and checks with the Radiologist when necessary.
  • Maintains quality control in the performance of all procedures.
