What the role involves

  • Managing the full lifecycle of mechanical estimation, from initial client enquiry through to project handover.
  • Review client specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates.
  • Produce detailed technical and commercial quotations aligned with client requirements.
  • Liaise with design engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and technical input.
  • Work closely with contracts managers and project teams to ensure estimates are realistic and achievable.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within tenders.

Skills and requirements

  • Ideally 3+ years’ relevant experience in a Mechanical Estimator or Process Engineering role.
  • Proven experience with pumping and pipework systems is essential.
  • Experience in a similar industry is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
