Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer focuses on work closely with manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, compliant designs that meet customer and regulatory requirements, particularly within ground support equipment (gse).

What the role involves

• Work closely with manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, compliant designs that meet customer and regulatory requirements, particularly within Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Deliver complex mechanical design projects from concept to manufacture.
• Carry out structural, stress, and tolerance calculations.
• Manage design issue logs.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, health & safety, and type approval standards.
• Support cross-functional teams.

Skills and requirements

• 7+ years' experience in mechanical design within heavy engineering.
• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
• Strong experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of type approval and manufacturing processes.

• Highly organised, analytical, and confident working under pressure.

Additional role context

• Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
• This is a hands-on role with real ownership-taking concepts from design through to production while mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement.
• Produce high-accuracy 3D models, drawings, cut lists, jigs, and technical documentation.
