Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technician focuses on repair equipment used throughout the facility.
What the role involves
- Repair equipment used throughout the facility.
- Assisting the Chief Power Engineer in ensuring the uptime and safe operation of the wood boilers.
- Inspect equipment to minimize downtime.
- Provide support and expertise for equipment installations.
- Maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories with the team. Checking stock to determine inventory level.
- Anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies to ensure limited downtime.
Skills and requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or Millwright within a manufacturing environment.
- 5th or 4th Power Engineer certification is an asset.
- Strong mechanical and electrical background and experience carrying out maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Flexible working 3-5 weeks in the wintertime on rotating shifts, daytime and evenings, to look after the wood boiler. The rest of the shift times are purely daytime.

- This opportunity welcomes Maintenance Technicians wanting to acquire a Shift Engineer Class 5 or a Class 4 Power Engineer certification, with a strong Mechanical Engineering backgr.
- The shift times of the position run from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, AND Tuesday to Saturday.
- From November to March (potentially longer), during the wintertime for 3-5 weeks, the Power Engineering/Maintenance team has a shift rotation schedule of days and nights to operate.
