Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician focuses on repair equipment used throughout the facility.

What the role involves

• Repair equipment used throughout the facility.
• Assisting the Chief Power Engineer in ensuring the uptime and safe operation of the wood boilers.
• Inspect equipment to minimize downtime.
• Provide support and expertise for equipment installations.
• Maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories with the team. Checking stock to determine inventory level.
• Anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies to ensure limited downtime.

Skills and requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or Millwright within a manufacturing environment.
• 5th or 4th Power Engineer certification is an asset.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background and experience carrying out maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Flexible working 3-5 weeks in the wintertime on rotating shifts, daytime and evenings, to look after the wood boiler. The rest of the shift times are purely daytime.

• This opportunity welcomes Maintenance Technicians wanting to acquire a Shift Engineer Class 5 or a Class 4 Power Engineer certification, with a strong Mechanical Engineering backgr.
• The shift times of the position run from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, AND Tuesday to Saturday.
• From November to March (potentially longer), during the wintertime for 3-5 weeks, the Power Engineering/Maintenance team has a shift rotation schedule of days and nights to operate.
