Machine Safety Engineer
Machine Safety Engineer focuses on conduct risk analyses of equipment and machinery in various industrial environments.
What the role involves
- Conduct risk analyses of equipment and machinery in various industrial environments.
- Preparing detailed technical reports on the results of risk analyses and the solutions to be implemented.
- Develop recommendations to improve machine safety in accordance with applicable standards (CSA, ISO, OSHA, etc.).
- Test, and implement machine safety systems (safety controllers and relays, guardrails, interlock systems, safety sensors, etc.).
- Preparing specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
- Stay up to date on regulatory and technological developments related to machine safety.
Skills and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related engineering field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in machine safety or industrial automation.
- Machine safety certification (CMSE or equivalent) as an asset.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and safety systems.
