What the role involves
- These positions report to the Manager of Aquatics and are responsible for maintaining a safe.
- Ensuring the safety and well being of patrons.
- Addressing safety issues proactively and tactfully, administering first aid and lifesaving when needed.
- Instructing swimming lessons, preparing lesson plans and progress reports.
- Assisting with pool maintenance and equipment checks, performing light cleaning duties.
- Perform manual tasks requiring physical exertion including getting a 20lb brick from the bottom of the 4.5m dive tank.
Confirmed role details
- In addition to the starting wage, applicable shift differentials apply.
- If assigned to instruct, you will receive an additional $1.00 per hour.
- Shift differentials are cumulative.
- Flexible with availability and willing to accommodate for the success of both parties.

- The University of Lethbridge, Athletics & Recreation Services is currently accepting applications for Lifeguards and Swimming Instructors to join our team for SPRING/SUMMER 2026.
- This casual position could extend into the Fall 2026 semester.
