Journeyman Mechanic *Grande Praire focuses on general knowledge pertaining to start-up and operation of petrochemical process plants.

What the role involves

  • General knowledge pertaining to start-up and operation of Petrochemical Process Plants.
  • Test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
  • Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
  • Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
  • Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications.

Skills and requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in the natural gas processing and/or compression servicing industry.
  • Excellent administration, communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work in independently with limited supervision.
  • Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
