Electrician Apprentice
Electrician Apprentice focuses on supporting the construction of medium and high voltage electrical systems.
What the role involves
- Supporting the construction of medium and high voltage electrical systems.
- Assisting with substation steel erection, cable tray building, and cable trench, bus, HV equipment and steel structure installation.
- Contribute to the installation and commissioning of medium and high voltage transformers, switchgear, and associated equipment.
- Participate in terminating medium and high voltage cables, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Supporting material deliveries and inventorying of materials as per the assigned work fronts, identifying any potential risks and bringing to the Site Supervisors and Foreman’s att.
- Ensure that Valard’s equipment and tools are being used in a safe and professional manner.
Skills and requirements
- Registered, or eligible to register, as an Electrical Apprentice with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency or Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification New Brunswick.
- Knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations.
- Comprehension of pertinent basic Equipotential Bonding and Grounding Principles and of lock out tag out procedures.
- Must hold a Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
