What the role involves

  • Counts and weighs items to ensure conformance to the shipper's bill of lading.
  • Computer knowledge: responsible for end-of-day labelling, handling drivers, and managing paperwork in the dispatch office.

Skills and requirements

  • Unloads freight from inbound trailers and loads outbound trailers using a handheld scanner as well as staging overflow freight for pickup by linehaul drivers at night, as required.
  • HIMS/Dangerous Goods Certificate/ Tow motor certificate (will train).
  • Developed problem solving, critical thinking, decision making and judgment skills.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs sometimes repetitive.
