CNC Programmer

CNC Programmer focuses on responsible for selecting efficient tooling packages for each component.

What the role involves

• Responsible for selecting efficient tooling packages for each component.
• Work with tooling manufacturers to introduce the latest tooling technology and strategies to the business.
• Develop machining strategies for cutting various materials such as aluminium and titanium.
• Creating process booklets and work instructions for machine set up and tool assembly.
• Design fixtures and work holding devices for components.

Skills and requirements

• Third level engineering or related qualification.
• Experience in the use of CAM software, for example Mastercam or similar.
• Knowledge of CNC machining strategies and processes.
• Experience in the manufacture of hard metals.

• CNC Programmer focuses on offline cnc programming of components on 3, 4 and 5 axis machines using cam software.
