Responsibilities and requirements

• Job responsibilites Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes Install and finish dry walls Fix crown mouldings Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood and wood substitutes Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, erect and trim walls Job requirements Completion of secondary school Trade certificate a definite advantage 6 months to 1 year experience as a carpenter Ability to read and count accurately with simple math skills
