Accounts Technician
Accounts Technician focuses on preparing and submit accurate quarterly vat returns in compliance with hmrc requirements.
What the role involves
- Preparing and submit accurate quarterly VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Maintaining VAT records, reconcile VAT control accounts.
- Process customs declarations and movements in line with Trader Support Service (TSS).
- Maintaining accurate records of import and export transactions.
- Processing monthly or weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, and pension auto-enrolment obligations.
- Administer starters, leavers, overtime, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP) within the payroll system.
Skills and requirements
- Recent relevant experience in a finance team (3-5 years minimum).
- Experience in accounts packages (Sage 200).
- Computer literate - including strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent communicator and able to build relationships and rapport.
